Tribal Enrollment
Welcome to The Echota Cherokee Tribe of Alabama's enrollment page. Please read the requirements completely before requesting an application.
*** Please note: All applications must come from our office and must have 4 pages & cannot be a photocopy. You can obtain the official 2021 updated application requesting one from our office. All other applications will be rejected.***
To request an application:
1. Send a written request to the tribal office.
2. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. (Please include a self-addressed envelope per amount of application request.)

Requirements: Must be able to provide necessary documentation to prove Cherokee ancestry. The genealogy chart must be completed and enclosed with copies of verifiable ancestry on any of the major Native American rolls or census, pictures, documentation, census records, etc. to back up genealogy chart. Any legal documentation stating race as Native American (birth certificates, death records, etc.). Also a letter describing your family's connection to the Cherokee and why you wish to be a citizen. Once you receive the application, make sure to read & follow all instructions.
When mailing in your application with your genealogy, you must include a check or money order for the following:
$45 per adult application processing fee
$5 per child application processing fee
